The rain stayed away, as always for Sudbury SC events, and everyone enjoyed an afternoon of football, music and BBQ.

 

Four teams entered this year

   Saints AKA Scooter Club

   Five Bells

   Heads Up (Steve, Martin, Jeff from Sudbury SC and friends from the Kings Head Pub)

   Old Vespas (Rob, Dan from Sudbury SC and friends)

 

We'd be interested to know why other clubs couldn't put in a team so we can make any changes next time.

 

All teams played each other twice and the top two teams took the trophies.

Saints played solid throughout the afternoon ending up at the top of the table, with Five Bells being given a run for their money to become runners up on goal difference.

 

The St John's Ambulance guys were kept busy patching up twisted ankles and dodgy knees. Interestingly, it seemed to be the youngsters suffering the injuries... I guess the older guys couldn't run fast enough to do any damage, or they're just made of tougher stuff than the kids these days !!!!

The evening do was more quiet than the last two do's we've had. There were many reasons why the numbers were down on last year but a good chance to catch up over a beer and some quality tunes in the background.

Team of 7 of which at least 3* must be scooterists (rolling substitutions)
£10 per team
'Fair Play' ... it's for fun !!!

(* we want this to be a fun event and not full of serious footballers that would run rings round a bunch of wheezing drunk scooterists !!!  but.. if you can't get 3 scooterist but can round up seven rag tag/used to play but struggle up the stair/fancy a kick about blokes or ladies... then get in touch)
