Rideout
The early fog cleared to leave a hot and sunny morning, about 40 scooters met up at KFC to head to Tollgate via Bures and Fordham.
By the time we'd had a coffee and Big Mac, we'd reached nearly 100 scooters.
We left for Coggeshall to have a beer at The Cricketers. Phil the landlord, an original mod from the 60's, kindly laid on some sausage and chips, nice one. The car park overflowed and scooters parked on the road and paths around the pub. By this time, two of the scooters had developed a smoke problem as a result of filling up with diesel, oops. It turns out, one scooterist made the mistake of picking up the wrong nozzle, only to pass it to his mate to do the same without realising... doh!!!

With the sun now beating down and the temperature reaching 16 degrees, not bad for mid April, we continued the ride out towards Earls Colne and onto Halstead. The ambulance managed to get past all of us without too much trouble but the marshalls did have some interesting hand signals to get those without mirrors to pull to the side !!!
Heading down the back roads through the housing estate, we made our way up through the centre of the town and on to Sible and Castle Hedingham.
The marshalls played a blinder and kept all 100 scooters together through the country roads and across the junctions.
A couple of scooters pulled up beside the road at one point with a leak, not from their engine but to answer the call on nature. Go before you leave the pub next time ;-)
We pulled into the industrial estate 15 minutes ahead of our planned time. Is this the first time ever on a ride-out?
Just over 100 scooters pulled into the meeting point at Ballingdon prior to the ride through the centre of Sudbury Town centre. The public and cars stopped to watch the spectacle all with big smiles !!!

This was the first gig for this young local band. Playing to a full pub for about an hour an twenty minutes, these guys blasted through tracks including The Beatles, The Who, Jet, The Automatics, The Jam and Blur.
One comment I heard was that they were 'too loud..' !!!
