Here is some updated news from www.scootssuitsandboots.com . Firstly we are launching our appeal \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Give The Boot to Teenage Cancer \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" with an all-day event in Oldham on 12th Sept. I know that it is way too far for you chaps and chapettes, but I will keep you informed of events etc as they come along. Secondly, we have a promotion going. If you purchase any item of Merc clothing from www.scootssuitsandboots.com between now and the end of August ( which is quite handy if there happens to be a small gathering of like minded individuals in your vicinity around about the end of August ! ) , we will send you a £5.00 discount voucher to be redeemed against your next purchase of Merc clothing from our site.

Once again thank you for continued support.

Mick.

Hi
The bury club have been asked if we will show some scooters at the morten hall summer fete on sunday the 26th of July. I believe last year alot of the coasters and some of the sudbury club had a ride over to bury one sunday and had some beers at hessett?

i understand that the arrangements at Hessett werent great!
The chap who runs the morten hall community centre is very eager to have as many scooters at the fete as possible and is going to rope off a section of the carpark to display them. Obviously there is a beer tent on site, as well as food and activities for the whole family.

we are planning to meet on the Angel Hill in Bury at mid-day and ride up to the fete via a circuit of Bury at 12.30.

It would be good if someone from the coasters could organise any who wish to come over and let me know numbers so i can inform the bloke from the community centre how many scooters we may have turn up.

Hi Sudbury SC

As promised you are one of the first to hear about the following event, its based in Manchester but once we get things rolling then hopefully we can spread our wings and work with our supporting clubs in raising as much money as possible for Teenage Cancer Trust. By the way the Supporting Club Section on our site should be live very soon.

On the 24th of July, US Soul Mega-Star and Northern Soul Legend Tommy Hunt will be performing at Modchester 09. The event is held over the weekend of 24/25 of July and will be the tenth year that this celebration of Modernism has been organised by The Hideaway Club and will be hosted at The Deansgate in Manchester ( full details at www.modchester.co.uk ).

As part of the Scoots, Suits and Boots \\\" Giving The Boot to Teenage Cancer \\\" Appeal, Mr Hunt has agreed to sign on stage a Merc harrington provided by www.scootssuitsandboots.com , that will then be auctioned by means of a silent auction at The Saturday Afternoon Session. Further lots include photographs and CD,s signed by the legendary soul man.

All proceeds of the auction will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust, whose primary aim is to build and maintain specialist units within NHS hospitals, which in turn provide the treatment and support that teenagers and young people need in their battle against cancer.

Scoots, Suits and Boots will have a stall at The Afternoon Session where we will be selling clothing by the likes of Merc, Ikon and Stomp. As always we will be donating at least 2.5% of the sales to the charity as well as making collections etc.

The silent auction will take the form of bids placed in sealed envelopes along with details of the bidder and the item that they are bidding on. The envelopes will be opened at the end of The Afternoon Session, and the highest bidder will win. Bid winners will be given until 5.00 pm on Monday 27th to complete the transaction. Once payment has been recieved we will organise delivery of the item. In the event that the winning bidder does not complete the transaction, the second highest bidder will be contacted.

Keep The Faith.

Mick.

Hi Guys/Gals,
just a short message to promote my online Northern Soul t-shirt shop.
It's called soularcade.com, and it's been running for about 2 years.
I have hundreds of designs and colours - all the usual designs of course, and dozens which are entirely exclusive to us. There are also some scooter/soul ones too!
Prices are very reasonable, and postage and packing is guaranteed to be prompt and inexpensive.
If you can add a link to your website, i would be most grateful,
yours,
Paul
ex-scooterboy of many years and soul fan of today!

ps: admin, if you need to delete, i won't be offended, thanks.
